Vocal Choirs
For many decades, Bethany has enjoyed a lively and active music ministry. Our choirs serve as the “backbone” of this ministry, providing worship leadership in service both to God and to our spiritual community. Our aim is to prepare ourselves for inspiring leadership of our congregational worship of God, nourishing a tradition of congregational singing, and deepening the connection between what we sing and who we are. In a postmodern age that so often isolates the individual, our choir remains an important source of community - by singing together and working together to achieve musical excellence, we begin to understand and deepen our care for one other.
Bethany Choir
We welcome all teens and adults to join us for rehearsal, Thursdays from 7:15 to 8:45pm, from September to May. The choir prepares music for weekly participation in worship. Bethany Choir explores a great variety of music in the Christian tradition from all times and places.
Bell Choirs - directed by Jean Coniber
Join us as we lift our bells up to God. Our bell choirs provide an instrumental ministry that adds to the depth of worship services. We are also fun and caring groups who enjoy spending time together as we make music.
Celebration Ringers – 7:30 pm Wednesdays
Although it helps to have some music-reading skills and bell experience in this group, beginning ringers are also welcome to grow with us. This group plays about once a month in our worship services.
Belles and Beaux – 10:00 am Tuesdays
For people who prefer a daytime rehearsal, this fun and dedicated group is perfect. Our main ministry is preparing for Christmas and Spring concerts at area adult/nursing homes, though we occasionally play some of our favorite tunes in Sunday worship.
Stephen Ministry
Stephen Ministry is an expansion of Bethany's ministry program. Trained lay people provide confidential, one-to-one Christian care to individuals in our congregation and community who are experiencing difficulties in their lives. Those who are hurting receive the love and care they need through compassionate listening, exploring feelings, praying, and sharing Christ's love. If you desire to know more about our Stephen Ministry; whether as a care receiver or a care giver, contact the church office.
Pastoral Care Deacons
Our deacons visit or call and send cards to our home-bound and nursing home patients. They support a program where the congregation sends Valentine, Easter, and Christmas cards. There is a Heart to Heart table that offers all types of cards for members of the congregation.
Prayer Support
We have an email prayer chain. You can either submit a request or join the prayer chain by contacting the church office.
